Amy graduated from Lindenwood University in 2000 receiving her BFA with an emphasis in Graphic Design. She is deep-rooted in graphic design, dabbles in photography and drawing, and finds true fulfillment in painting. Once out of college, Amy shifted her art direction from realism to abstract. Her portfolio now focuses on abstract art and the limitless freedom of expression in which it encompasses. Amy is consistently experimenting with techniques, materials and layers. What is hidden beneath the surface of each piece is as important as what is clearly visible.
Amy's inspiration comes from her son, who proves that art and imagination go hand-in-hand. Music also inspires Amy's pieces, her favorite playlist always drumming in the background while she's working. Rhythm and lyrics dramatically affect the emotion, mood and direction of the painting. Amy is drawn to the energy of bold colors, the perfection of earth tones and the emotion of deep hues.
Amy serves as a member of the Artist Advisory Board at the Foundry Art Centre, assisting in the overall development and implementation of national-class exhibitions.
